Can we show a little love to the men?

This really isn't a question and I'm sure it'll probably get deleted soon but it needs to be said.

I realize that there are some nasty men in the world but in general, the average man you come across on the streets is a decent human being, loving and devoted husband and/or father.

We need more men like this in the world and the men who are like this need to be treated with respect and appreciation.

So on Father's Day I just want to send a little shout out and some love to all the good men, fathers and husbands out there.

You are appreciated!

  1. I join you in saying to all the good men, fathers and husbands out there....thank you for everything you do for us,working hard to provide for us, protecting us with your strength, guiding us with your wisdom, loving us just as we are, encouraging us to be the best we can be and being there for us when we need you!  We love and need you!

    YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

  2. Yes, for my dad, my brothers and my lover, who are terrific men, I love you all.

  3. Yup! Happy Fathers Day!

  4. I'm afraid my observations have made me a bit more cynical than that.

The "average man on the street" is in favor of some pretty ugly things, even just by passivity.

He'll go along with killing, with putting people in cages, with bombing other peoples countries, with stealing all the money

he'll go along with the single equation all men operate on:

(("If I make you lose, that's how I win"))

But for just one day I will suspend reality and go along with you...

    you're not all THAT wrong

most of what sucks about men is sins of omission,

    ignorance, and biology.

    So happy f*cking fathers day!

(But tommorrow the bashing begins again,    in earnest!)

  5. I just wanted to tell everyone that my husband was made for me by God! He is perfect for me in each and every way. I can't imagine living my life without him and hope I never have to. He is a God-send and I love him!

"I love you, baby! Happy 1st Father's Day!"

  6. Agreed! Thank God for good men who are kind, warm-hearted, hard-working, diligent, and who are often our best friends. We should praise the men in our lives for the good things they do, because it reaffirms that they are taking care of us women and doing a great job!

  7. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there in the world! Big love to them! :)

  8. I'm not a father myself, but thanks for the kind words and I do think most of us men are decent excluding the scumbags who do horrible things. I appreciate my dad and my step-dad who is an amazing man and has a heart of gold, and is why everyone loves him so much who know him.

Happy father's day to everyone and to you and your father.

  9. hey i love the gentlemen...but not as much as my boo!!!!!

  10. For sure! Happy father's day dad. You always were there for me.

  11. I love men! They are awesome, happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there, keep up the good work & ignore all the negativity!

  12. agreed

  13. i'm with you on that!

  14. Yes, we can show a little love to the men.  I often do, such as by doing things for the men who are my neighbours: I take their mail in, give them fruit off my tree, and so on. There is a certain member here though, who keeps targetting my answers, so he won't be getting any love from me....

EDIT:  My adored Dad died 20 years ago on the 14th.

EDIT 2:  Happy Fathers' Day to all the dads out there, although it's not Fathers' Day in Australia - that's on the 1st Sunday in September here:  http://www.fathersdaycelebration.com/fat...

  15. Happy Fathers Day to my dad and every other father out there. I completly agree with you, men get shown in a very bad light when it comes to the news, media etc. Note they are the minority, good willed men are the majority.

  16. T H A N K  Y O U!   On behalf of being a father, I appreciated and I am sure all the men out there would say the same.

Anyone could be a man, but it take a very special man to be a FATHER.

  17. Thank you - for your words, and for taking the time to write them!

  18. as a loving father, I appreciate the sentiment.

  19. Thank you, that's very kind.

  20. Happy Father's Day to all dads out there!

EDIT: And to the ar sehole who has made a point of giving every answer the thumbs down up until now, get a life.

  21. Happy father's day? when your kid's a little lunatic? how could that be happy?

    But thanks anyways.

  22. We talked about this in church today (sort of, it was a little different take on the subject than this, but similar).  It's nice to hear after being bombarded with all sorts of messages about how men are unnecessary and other similar garbage.

I hope to be a good father one day myself.  I'm thankful for my own dad today, and every other day, probably not nearly as much as I should be.

  23. I can't see why this question would be deleted, but you're right, men don't get the kind of praise they deserve, especially the good ones.  I thank my dad for being about a quarter of the people that helped make me, ME, even if I am the very thing he is against.  A transsexual, which he also puts in the same group as LGB's.  My mom is the other three quarters of the people who helped.  She had the egg, she's the one that got fat because of me, and she's the one who went through the pain of giving birth.  My dad just gave the sperm.

  24. Ahhh, group hug.

    Alright, who's feelin on me.

  25. Happy Fathers Day to all of the fathers

  26. well happy fathers day, were ever my dad is I owe him and my mother my life even if they dont know I exist.

  27. I agree.  This forum tends to obfuscate all the good men, and warp ones opinion.  I took a step backwards and took a reality check and then came back to the forum.  I have already gotten a best answer, so the needle is back in the vein!
