I'm not sure if I beleive the world will end in 2012. Maybe something major will just happen. Just because the Mayan calender ends there doesn't mean the worlds going to end...Does it?

  1. Yes, only if everybody contibutes.

  2. Every few years so one predicts the end of the world. Obviously it has not happened. There is no reason to believe it will happen in 2012.

The only way to stop global warming is to turn off the sun.

  3. Nope, that just how far ahead the Mayans could count.  Numerology is BS, and you don't even want to get me started on how AGW was invented by politicians and special interest groups to gain power and control over your life.

  4. Not only the Mayans, but also the Babylonians, Sumerians, Nostradamus, and the Bible all have predictions or references to 2012 as the end of the world.

We should all just quit work and go on a 4 year bender.  Global warming is the least of our problems.

  5. It will be here just differant

  6. Dunnoo.

  7. never mind the 2012 nonsense, i very much doubt if we can stop global warming at all, we don't have the technology, and we don't have to Global agreement the pursue that goal.

what is left is a possible compromise, in which we will slow some of the triggers of global warming, and suffer the remaining effects.

  8. It doesn't matter, its not global warming that will end the world in 2012.  And don't worry too much, at least its late in 2012.

  9. Supposedly the world will end December 21, 2012

but that it gonna happen. just cuz the Mayan Calender ends that day doesn't mean the world will end. Its like our calender, it ends December 31 does that mean we should be worried bout dieing? nah i dont think so. the world will end when we have no sun. or simple when it does. but i truly believe it WONT end 2012

  10. Nothing will happen. The world didn't blow up when the 1984 calendar finished, it won't be destroyed in 2012. And, in answer to your global warming question: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doci... And to texasstrubul it's not actually allowed to be shwon over here, that's how inaccurate it is.

  11. We could if we really tried but thats not going to happen.  Besides worst case scenario if the world does end we wont have to worry about it anymore. ; )

  12. only if we do away with all concrete

  13. the world does not end in 2012, it just changes from the way we know it. Will it really happen? Maybe. At the rate we're going God is getting tired of watching us do the things we do and he's gonna put a stop to it.

  14. It's not the end of the world then.

That date marks the end of the cycle and the calendar goes all the way back to the beginning.  Just like our years.  When a new year comes, we go back to January.

Something might happen on that date due to something with the planets and it is going to mess with our electrical grid.

So no, it doesn't mean a thing at this point.

It doesn't actually say it will the be the end.  People 'think' it will be because they were smart because and they didn't finish it.  Which a calendar can't go on forever.

  15. there will be no major effects from global warming until at least 2050 and most of the most effects wont happen until 2100. this problem has a solution, we have the means but not the will. lets hope the world can get together and find a solution before it is to late.

BTW 2012 is the rough date in which we (devolped countries) should be making massive cuts so that we will be able to reach our long term targets.

  16. If you're asking because of a religious need to know, then I can't help.  Each persons religious beliefs is his/her own.  But, scientifically speaking, no we can't stop it before 2012.  Even if we stopped polluting the environment today, it would take around 50 years for the earth to heal itself.

  17. No

  18. i've heard that many times before too but i dont believe the world will end or else ppl would be far more concerned...

but i do agree  because the mayans predicted everything else just tad bit away from its precise date, so maybe the world really will end in 400+ years. idk...

  19. The whole story isn't being told. The media latches onto the ideas pushed by celebrities and doesn't investigate the whole story. Right now, Al Gore's movie is being shown to children in Great Britain with a disclaimer because so many of the details were exaggerated. In that regard his work is much like Michael Moore's movies where he avoids certain facts that don't go along with his arguments. I've put a website below for an Australian blog. The man who writes it is extremely knowledgable and he frequently sites very respected scientists who don't agree with the hypothesis of Global Warming put forth by Al Gore and the UN.

BTW, did you ever wonder why Global Warming is considered a fact and Evolution is considered a theory?
