Can we truly say that there is an existing Asian Civilization?and why?

defining what is a civilization, is there an existing one Asian Civilization?

A civilization according to dictionary.com is an advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached. In addition it is also any type of culture, society, etc., of a specific place, time, or group.

So based on this definition there is an Asian civilization in that  in Asia there exists with cultures divided up within the many regions of Asia such as China. India, Korea etc. And it is very obvious that there are governments in place, as well as industry and technology.

Civilization means city...

Cities build upward, and accomodate many people in less space...

Cities develop architecture, sanitation and complex field irrigation methods...

The three oldest literate civilizations are considered to be Mesopotamian (4500 BCE), Egyptian (4000 BCE), and the inhabitants of the Indus River Valley (3400 BCE)...

The reason that that an Asian/Mongoloid "civilization" is not included in this short list, is that for the past 8-9,000 years, the people of this region lived in de-centralized agricultural societies, with the concept of a central emperor coming about only within the past 5,000 years...

Still the other civilizations were focused on 1 or 2 freshwater rivers, while the Asian population is spread out over a greater land mass, and which also includes nomadic hunter/gatherer tribal lifestyles, which have domesticated livestock but have never yet become farmers...

No. We can say there are a number of civilizations that fit into the concept of Asia. Japan is part of Asia, but it is often included as part of "The Western World" due to it's highly complex social structure and technological advancement.
