    I'm surprised that some one hasn't mentioned that crude oil is basically fossilised plankton.

    Anyway here is a link to a project in Spain that is doing just this thing.

  2. You might be able to produce a little out them, but I don't believe they have many, if any, vegetable oils so they wouldn't be a good source.
