Yes, we are using it now, for heating houses and water, for charging batteries of solar powered cars, to charge the little solar powered lights that people place along their sidewalk or driveway.

I expect that the uses will greatly increase as we try to "go green" and replace oil.

Solar power would be reallly efficient to use in the future.. it helps us save much energy. Instead o wasting all our vluable resources, we could just use solar power. we can use as much solar power, as long as the sun shines. the solar power could even work at night, cuz it stores all the sun power into a battery for later use. the only problem  is it costs more money
