Can we use the bio ethanol as the alternative energy resource? if yes, then for what?

  1. Yes, it can be added to gasoline as an additive to make more fuel.  However, it seems that the move toward ethanol gives us a choice about farm output -- eat it or drive it.  Food prices are out the roof.  Staples especially.  And crop diversion to ethanol production is blamed.

    There are other bio ethanol sources being touted, but have not seen much good from it as of yet.


  2. Not if we create world wide famine by using too much of it.

    We are already doing that, and we do not appear to have a plan to avoid this outcome, so we really have to cut back on purchases of food to be used for ethanol until world wide food stocks can rebuild.
