  1. "Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. Your best defense against computer viruses and malicious programs is to keep your virus definitions up to date.

  2. Only use one anti-virus product. Running more than one can cause conflicts thus rendering each ineffective. Below are links to Norton and SmartComputing outlining problems when having more than one active AV product:

  3. the most common thing while running 2 antiviruses at same system;

    1.both may conflict each other

  8. No use only one anti virus software.

if there r two people protecting one person.

think if they both fight with each other.

Then who will save that person.

    Same is here.

If u will use two anti virus software.

They both will try to search for virus.

And each other will say that your other anti virus software is corrupt.

Only install one anti visrus software.

    That's all.

  9. yes defenitly it will create more problems

  10. Two antiviruses don't create any problem. However, your system would be slowed down to a significant extent.

  11. You can, but sometimes they will pick each other up, one anti-virus is enough as long as its decent, and you spend time updating it every day.

One useful thing to have is more than one firewall, or an anti-virus and an anti-spyware program.

  12. The safe way is to run one AV, if you think that AV is missing viruses then the safe thing to do is a free online scan with bitdefender or trend housecall.

  13. Anti-virus software is fine to run 2 or more on the same computer. It is NOT good to run 2 or more software firewalls though.

  14. They will pick each other up scanning through the files and slow down your computer enormously scanning each other.
