Can wearing contact lenses on one eye have a negative effect on the other??

i wear contacts on my right eye to drive etc..but i l was perfectly fine wivout glasses/contacts for bout eight years!! neway is wearing one cntact lens on my right eye only gna make my left eye worse?? i can c very clearly with one lens but im jus worid bout the other eye. the guy at the optician says my left eye wnt get worse. im scared tho! please help! thanx

  2. You should be fine. If you only need correction in one eye there is no need to correct the other. If your optician didn't think it was a good idea they wouldn't have prescribed in this way - it is no different from having glasses with one corrective lens and one plano (no corrective power) lens. If you are really bothered about the contact you could try getting glasses but the effect will be the same.
