Can wearing one contact lens help strengthen the weaker eye?

Just curious if it would help, as in treatment for lazy eye. Any optometrists or md's with an opinion? I don't care about regular people's experience, just a doc's insight. thanks!

  1. How about an opionion of an optician who has a daughter with a lazy eye?

Wearing one contact will help the vision out of the weak eye and I have seen people wear one contact in the strong eye to blur the vision to make the weaker eye work to see, it's an alternative to patching, same basic theory, just without the oh-so-comfortable patch!

Usually, by the time the patient is old enough to wear contacts, the brain has adapted to the lazy eye and there is little we can do to strengthen it, it's one of those things you need to catch early to correct.

  2. Yes, it does help out
