Can wellbutrin be addictive?

I'm supposed to be taking only 150 mgs and am at 450 because i *want* to take it

  1. You should NOT just keep popping the pills. It lowers your seizure threshold and can be very dangerous. Buproprion is classified by the US government as being non-abusable and all the research and studies support this, though there are plenty of anecdotal evidence that shows some people still "abuse" it.  


  2. No, it's not addictive, and at 450 mg you start risking seizures.

Wellbutrin does have a stimulant effect that some people like.  Be careful with the doseage, as Wellbutrin increases your chances of having a siezure at higher doses.  A 300 mg dose is the norm... 150 for people with a lower body weight or the higher doseage for folks with extreme lethargy due to depression.
