Can wifi laptops stay connected 24/7 & can I use it anywhere in my house?

I dont know anything about computers. but i want to get a laptop with built in Wi-fi and be able to use it in my room & stuff so i can use instant messenger.... what do you think? thanks

you could use an extender. get one at radioshack if theres one in the area.

that is if it dosent reach into your room or not.

yes they stay connected 24/7 but only if you have a wireless router in  your house. If you don't you are picking up someones Elses signal and that will interfere with whether you get a connection or not

Yeah you can use 24/7 365. May be sometimes you may get interference like anhother radio frequncies walk talkies, Cellular home phones and so on. You can use as normal computer connected to the internet. You can use anywhere in your home chataing msn or something like that.

I'm able to use my laptop in my room and use messengers and our router is downstairs.

You can leave it on 24/7 and if the laptop is within range of your wireless signal it will stay online 24/7.
