Can wii fit go online?

I want to play with my out of state friends and get in shape together. Does wii fit go online if I buy the Wii connect adapter?

That would be a great idea! I have the wii fit and I dont care what anyone says that game is awsome! Ive lost 20 pnds since June just by doing it. :)

Nope.  In fact, wii fit even sucks for two players in your own home unless they don't mind doing yoga or strength training beside you with nothing giving them feedback, or they just want to go on an artificial "island jog" with you.

I'm a big fan of Wii Fit, but more as a fitness tool that happens to be fun than as a game that happens to be a fitness tool.  Online capability wouldn't add a whole lot to it, frankly, but I could see the value of comparing scores and fitness credits earned with friends.
