  1. yes the wind changes the opposite direction and thus produces a "suction" instead of a "push"....

  2. its also possible that the wind blew it open but the door was off balance on its hinges and leaned toward the direction of the doorway and gravity pulled it shut.

  3. 2 things possible,....1- the door is not level ,so any time you leave it open you have to block it or it closes.....

2-the door is level all things are equal, door is parked not quite closed ,the wind blows ,a back window is open the wind blows against the door the wind pulls air out the window ,the pressure is now greater on the outside and less inside, the door opens, then the air changes directions blowing through the window, slight increase in the air pressure in the room ,wind gets behind door slowly closes it...........sorry no ghost......tom

  4. The wind can change in the opposite direction, as ADI stated, or the air pressure may be simply equalizing after the wind stops, OR, an even simpler explanation, your garage door is balanced on its own such that it closes by itself when in that position with no outside influence.

  5. It must have blown from the opposite direction and therefore have been a different wind to the one that opened the door. Unless the door was closed by a spring, hydraulic door closer or weight on a cable passing over a pulley etc.
