  1. If you have a Blu-ray drive in your machine then yes, if you don't then no. XP doesn't care what kind of DVD drive is hooked up to it or even if one is hooked up at all. If you have the hardware to do it it will, if you don't it won't.

No.  That is because there is no such thing as a Blu Ray DVD.  There's a Blu-Ray Disc so I'll just assume that's what you're referring to.  The only way to play Blu-Ray Discs on any operating system is to have a disc drive that is made to play Blu-Rays.  If the drive isn't compatible with Blu-Ray discs, it won't play no matter what operating system you have.

  4. It doesn't matter if you have windows xp it all depends on if you have a player that is capable of playing them.

  5. What you really need to know is, can you computer play blu- ray?  I'd venture to say probably not, but I've been wrong before.  If your DVD drive has the blu-ray sign on it, it can play blu- ray, if not, then it cannot.
