  1. A lot of wines go very well with chocolate, though it is more commonly reds. Try something like a dark, fruity vintage Cabernet Sauvignon.

  2. i think red would work better.

    also try tylenol and wine.

actually don't do that.  your liver will hate you.

  3. I really don't know of any rule that states which wine should be paired with chocolate.  I believe most wine and food pairing "experts" suggest reds, but I really like a nice chilled white with any type of choclate. A dry to semi-sweet Riesling or a Pinot Gris are my favorites with choclate, especially choclate covered strawberries, I do sometimes open a bottle of red and find that is also an excellant choice. My favorite reds with choclate are Chianti and Rioja.

  4. Oh yes, wine and chocolate tastes nice. There's also wine with strawberries, especially the semi-dry ones (koz i like the sweet ones).

  5. A nice sweet dessert wine (like a Port) would very nicely with chocolate - especially dark chocolate!

  6. a good port wine, if you go to a winery they should be able to assist you

  7. Hello Renee,

Chocolate and Wine both have complex flavors. Pairing them together can be tricky. A good rule of thumb is to try and match a wine’s sweetness with the chocolate’s sweetness.

Here are a few ideas for you.

Most dessert wines with a high sugar content will complement most chocolates.

    Bittersweet- California Zifandel

White Chocolate-Sherry, Moscato d'Asti or Orange Muscat

Milk Chocolate-Pinot Noit, Merlot, Hoque, Columbia Crest

    Dark Chocolate-Zifandels and Cabernet Sauvignon

I hope this gives you some ideas.

    Have a great day!

  8. Chocolate is well known to compliment wine well.

For big red wine with tannin, such as Cabernet and Merlot, dark chocolate goes well.  The bitterness of dark chocolate and bitterness of tannin compliment well, and the light sweetness of chocolate tend to bring out the fruitiness of wine.  Merlot works even better, especially since Merlot has natural cocoa flavor.

For dessert wine, sweeter chocolate is great.  You can try big Port wine that goes with slightly darker chocolate, or white dessert wine such as ice wine for milk chocolate.

For light sweet wine, such as Riesling and sauvignon blanc, it can go with small amount of chocolate, but too much can overpower the intracacy of the wine and just make it taste like chocolate martini.

  9. Wine can go with anything in my house.....lol :0)
