Can winking be a friendly sign, or it's just about flirting?

For instance: A guy is winking at me. Is it possible that he is doing it with friendly intensions?

a wink is a wink plain and simple stop trying to read more into it than is there

a guy winking means nothing

it doesnt mean hes flirting  although it can but not in most cases

most likely  was him being friendly or acknowledging something you just said to him

heres an example

my husband works with a guy whom we are friends with he winks all the time. its a signal for him often meaning he needs to ask for something or agrees with something just said or as a way of silently agreeing. hes not flirting with me just being friendly

stop trying to read more into things all your doing is setting your self up to get hurt
