  1. American law is totally biased against men.

  2. I doubt it, although in some cases there may be a personal lawsuit pertaining to deflamation of character.  This I guess is due to the fact that if people were persecuted for trying to report a crime, and those charges led to an aquittal, the prosecution could be liable - thereby making it all the more difficult for REAL victims to come forward.

What you're referring to is the "cry rape" syndrome, and the truth is that the American legal system is extremely biased towards women, and most people know it, although perhaps not to the extent that it truely is.

I'm a little confused by the use of the word "coercion" here.  Is that meant to mean a woman who's convinced to press charges when there's no real grounds, or is it more like a woman consents to s*x and then "decides" it was a rape, which is awful, but I doubt any charges can be leveled against her even if they know full well she consented.

Honestly, someone should really iron out all the gender bias in the legal system, it actually is very bad.

  3. Rape is a criminal offence, not something filed as a civil claim; it is a matter litigated by the state, not pursued by civil parties.

So your question should be: Can women be charged with rape if coercion can be established? Since coercion implies the absence of consent (for sexual activity), I would say yes. Although as we all know, it is nearly impossible to prove rape in most cases.

  4. Of course. Coercion is hard to prove, though, as many rape victims have discovered.

  5. You can't sue someone for rape; it's a criminal offence. But, yes, she can be charged with coercion if you can prove it.
