  1. Eagle pretty much summed it up, women can't drive tanks because the whole purpose of the tank is combat, and women can't have a combat MOS.

  2. Women operate tanks pretty regularly as mechanics but are not allowed to serve as armor crewmen. It's not the driving that women have trouble with it's the loading and the maintenance of some parts. Breaking track is not easy and not fun either and I have not met many women who can load the 120 mm cannon repetitiously. There may be some who have the upper body strength but it's not enough to make a difference. I agree with the policy since any crewmen who can not do all the tasks is a burden on the others. Sorry ladies but that is the truth. That said I do think women would make awesome snipers in certain situations and have met some kickass lady engineers. In fact I think women make the best grader operators.

  3. not in combat  they can't.  but if all you want to do is drive one then yes. 63d tracked mechanic.  you have to drive them to fix them

  4. No.  Being in the armor branch is considered combat arms and women are not allowed into most combat arms branches (infantry, armor, field artillery, special forces).  However, they are allowed into the Engineers, Aviation, and to a small degree, Air Defense Artillery.

  5. yes

  6. maybe back in 1812, women couldn't cause we weren't allowed to do anything. Why wouldn't they be able to now? It doesn't take muscle to drive a tank, only to lift it. I agree with you. It would be pretty stupid if we can't now.
