I remember Mutter wrote an essay a while back about girlie men... it was pretty interesting... (Mutter, look into your e-mail once in a while, btw. :P)

Anyway, can you show me some pictures of famous (or not) manly men, or describe them to me? I'm just trying to understand what image comes to mind when someone says that.

Guys, it doesn't make you g*y if you answer this.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld put it.

  1. Fox, it's pretty simple, frankly.  A real man has integrity and doesn't allow anything to interfere with his integrity.  My late dad was a real man but I don't have a picture of him.  He was a good looking man (the spitting image of Al Pacino, I swear on my life) when Pacino starred in GF I.  It wasn't his appearance that made him a real man, rather it was his character and his devotion to his family.  He treated my mother well and sacrificed everything for the good of his family.  He was respectful and lived honorably.  I guess I try to model myself after him, because when he died, my mom was and is still devastated to this very day.  He was brilliant in every way and anyone who knew him would say that he exemplified every feature of a fine human being, including:  honesty, loyalty, integrity, compassion, love for others and never lost sight of how important his wife and family were.

When I didn't do well on a test as kid, he never scolded me, he just said, "So long as you did your best, no one can fault you."

He never hurt my mom physically nor in any other capacity.  He was never unfaithful to her and kept his family as his first priority.  He never spoke ill of others, and always displayed humility.

Those are the features of a real man.  It really just comes down to that.  I can only hope to be a small fraction of the man he was.

That's what a real man is.

  4. The term "Real Men" is in fact an insult. It is a Lame attempt by Feminists to define Masculinity. In other words it is a schizophrenic half assed insane attempt by Lesbians to define the other side whom they hate. Burt Reynolds was asked by Johnny Carson many years ago. The Icon of Late Night TV. "When do you know you are a Man?" Burt replied "When your Daddy says you are a Man". Real Manhood is defined by Men not Women. Who could care less, i.e. are indifferent to what Feminists try to manipulate Men into doing and thinking.

Real Men in my own personal view. This reflects my views only. Is the following Moral, Honorable, Honest, Ethical, Brave, Loyal, loves his Wife or Significant Other, protects the Weak and Children. He spends time in self evaluation, has a moral code of Honor. Treats others with respect who respect him. Is courteous and polite, and does not follow the herd.

He takes calculated Risks. Works hard and enjoys doing so. Is not concerned if his tastes are "Trendy or In". He is his own Man. He likes what he enjoys without apology. Has morals and ethics. And takes pride in his hard won accomplishments. He likes to challenge his physical capacities, mental exertions and is not afraid of truth.

Real Men in my own view value Honor, Courage, Moral and Physical Strength, Intellect, and Intelligence, Achievement and Risk. Cicero declared that Courage was the first virtue. It enables all the others. Have a great Sunday Yall.
