Can yaughting canvas be recycled and used for oil painting?

I know this seems a strange question but I had a lot of old yaughting canvas giving to me and I would like to if It can be used for oil painting.I would like if it has already been primed when it was manufactured.I am not going to throw this stuff out.

Yes--IF it is white & not treated (waterproofed or other wise sealed).  

If you'd like to donate it, I think the best place would be your local Community college or Art school.  At a community college where traditional art is taught, the instructors can teach students how to properly refurbish and mount it.  Your local High school or art school will do the same thing.  This is valuable knowledge for aspiring artists as ready made canvas is VERY expesive.  (Also, as a donation it is a tax right-off for you.)
