In Microsoft Office 2003 you could save one document as a different version within the same file

ex: if John writes a letter, and Sam makes changes it can still be the same file, but you can open Johns original letter OR Sams Letter

Can you do this in Microsoft Office 2007?

  1. No, you can't.  The closest thing that MS Word can do is Track Changes which can be set to highlight changes made by people.  It wouldn't do what you want though.

What you need is some sort of Content Management System or Document Management System which does versioning.  Versioning is where the CMS/DMS saves a copy of the file each time it is edited.  You can view each version of the document and roll back changes if you need to.

  2. yes in word 2003 you could save as 6/95 or RTF in 2007 you can still save as RTF
