You can't actually patent a method for curing the hiccups but you can get a patent for a pharmaceutical that cures the hiccups so that no one else can manufacture that pharmaceutical unless you sell your patent to them or you sell them a licence.

Unlikely, since most cures for hiccups are procedural.  In order to obtain a patent, your "cure" would need to be a specific formula.

you found the cure. be careful my brother thought he had, he tried holding his breath for ten minutes. he went very purple then white, and then we went to church and berried a box in the ground. GOOD LUCK.

well hicups are actually the result of yuur diapram going into spasm this is de to irregular breathing...so when people say try to do something like drink water backwards that is because yuu focus on doing that and yuur breathing goes back to normal...holding your breath doesnt actually work either because all you are doing is stopping your diaphrm from working at all....the best way to get rid of them is to breath in for 5 seconds then sowly breath out for 5 seconds etc. this will return your breathing to normal :) (Y)
