  1. I am from Illinois and the only help you can get is medical card which will cover the cost of everything while pregnant and you can get cash in hand from public aid but you have to show them your trying to get a job which includes filling out 10 applications a week and taking the proof into them and doing community service you may also be eligible for WIC and link but nothing to help you once you give the baby up for adoption.

  2. What kind of finanicial help are you trying to get?  I know there are programs that will cover your pregnancy if you do not have insurance but I don't know about getting any kind of real money just because you are pregnant.

  3. Go through Medicaid, NOT an adoption agency.  That way, you won't feel as pressured when you change your mind.

  4. It may be easier for you to recieve help if you go through an adoption agency......but do you homework before you commit to any one agency. Good Luck.

  5. Only for medical expenses in most cases.

  6. Well, if you mean financial help in regards of everything being paid for (fees, Dr's appt's, medical bills, etc)...it depends on the adoption process you follow.  A lot of people doing private adoptions are willing to pay for absolutely everything including personal things for the birth mother.  You also get a medical card during the pregnancy if you qualify (which almost all pregnant women do).  Check with an adoption attorney in your area.  There is a wonderful one in Charleston,IL named Kirsten Bays (I am from Illinois)...she will help you sort things out and if she finds an adoptive family for your child, they will pay all your legal fees as well.  Good luck...I know this is a long and hard process, but you are making the right choice!
