is it possible? sometimes i let out lines, but its kinda hard to make myself to actually feel the emotions. but is it still possible to make my acting seem good and convincing without actually feeling the emotions? like lets, say your doing a scene where your angry. could you like make your voice sound angry. forcing it or something. but i heard forcing it out like that wouldn';t be convincing acting. so... any ideas?

  1. yes, but the audience wont  be emursed in the scene.

never act an emotion, feel it. but yourself in that situation and act how you would act. thats what i do.

  2. Yes, people do it all the time, both on the screen, stage, and in real life. It's sometimes called faking it in real life, like  the wife who pretends to enjoy going to bed with her husband.

  3. Sure, everyone can. It's called LYING.Lawyers are particularly adept at this deception as well as politicians.I can easily feign rage-complete with veins sticking out of my neck and all.Crying is the hardest for men, but women can turn it on and off with ease.

  4. Certainly it's possible - I think it's even better not to try to get caught up in fake emotions.  Yes, the method school of acting is popular right now, but it's far from the only one - look up information on the Sanford Meisner method, or read True and False by David Mamet. Meisner was a director who trained with Stanislavsky, and of course David Mamet is one of America's best-known playwrights.  Both of these artists will tell you to concentrate on the truth of what you are saying, rather than how it makes you feel.
