Can you activate a ATT phone online?

My phone fell in water so I ordered a new phone on ebay. Can I switch it over online or over the phone? (Its difficult for me to get down there since im a college student who dorms with out a car)

You can call customer care to switch the phone over.... just call 1-800-331-0500 and they can get your new phone activated for you.

Be prepared when you call you will have to verify the account with the last 4 of the SSN of the account holder!

If your just swapping phones and have your old sim card you dont even need to call .... just put the old sim into the new phone.

Depending on the carrier, but it is normally done over the phone. You might check your carrier website online as well but I would just call the their customer support and they can check the phone and guide you through the process. Good luck.

You do not have to activate the phone. As long as the phone is a Cingular or ATT branded phone, pop your sim in the phone and you are good to go. If the phone is not ATT/Cingular branded, but has been unlocked, the same applys.

ATT does not activate phones, the sim card is whats activated so as long as your sim was not damaged from being in water, you will have no worrys
