Question:

Can you actually put zipper seal bags in the dishwasher?

A local radio show recently had a debate about this. One host said they wash and re-use their zipper seal bags (zip lock, etc.) by putting them in the dish washer. I do wash and re-use mine, too, to save money and it's environmentally more friendly, but hadn't heard of putting them in the dish washer. The guy was saying it worked great and they never had a problem with them flying around inside the machine or getting melted. Has anyone tried this and if so, what were the results. I've been either hand washing mine or putting them in with laundry (depending on what was in them first and what they'll be used for after washing). We don't re-use sandwich bags--they tend to just fall apart, but the big ones are expensive so we re-use them.

  1. My dishwasher would melt it, it has a default temp of 125 degrees.

  2. Apparently my mother in law is not the only one who washes her zipper bags!

She does it all the time with no problem. She turns them inside out  opens them up and then fits it on the cup holders so they stay open.

    Here is an interesting gadget♥

The first time you try it you may want to hang around the kitchen area and just keep your nose peeled in case  a bag does become over heated. My mom in law has never had this problem, but better safe than sorry!

  3. This is retarded... once they've been used, you should throw them away.  Get tupperware if you want to have something that can be washed and re-used.
