Can you add a key start to a pull start pocket bike i'm getting one and its pull start only?

  1. No.  Unless it has a starter.


  2. You can wire in a key operated switch, but that won't convert it to electric start, and its a complex job, take it to an AUTO-ELECTRIC specialist, if you want it done reliably.

  3. You can put a key switch in the battery feed wire on the ignition system. That will make it so you have to have a key to get it started but it won't have an electric starter. Just as easy to hide a toggle switch somewhere that only YOU know of on the bike. Many people do that with golf carts to keep them from being stolen. A thief ain't gonna search for a hidden switch for too long.

  4. You can but the battery is going to add more weight and you need a generator/alternator to keep it charged.

  5. Only with difficulty.  You will have the added weight of both the battery and the starter motor, and the mechanical complications of attaching this equipment.
