Ok, so i just built a new computer with an nforce 560 Chipset, and i'm mirroring 2 hard drives using the RAID option in the bios. I have the array built and working...i am booting into windows...but the problem is that whenever i plug in another hard drive into the other 2 empty sata ports, it shows up in windows as a drive with a question mark on it. I know there is nothing wrong with the partitions on this drive because i have tested it with another computer, so it seems like the raid array I have built is stopping me. All i want to do is have an extra hard drive in my PC, separate from my raid array. Is this possible with my setup?

  1. adding a extra hdd wont harm your raid array.......when you hooked up the hdd did you check to make sure your bios recognized it...you could have all your ports enabled for raid, make sure the raid array is enabled on the 2 ports...the other 2 ports you should have to enable for just sata drives.......then get out of bios and go to disk management and initionalize the drive........scott
