I have a credit card with a $1000 limit. I have used all of it. I want to put $2500 on it. Is this allowed?

  1. What you can do is ask for a credit line increase and tell them that you are not satisfied with your current credit limit. If that doesn't work shop around your credit limit to another card but don't submit your application too often (max 2 times in a given 6 month period) otherwise you'll end up hurting your credit. The new card company can do a balance transfer so that you can eliminate the other card. Make sure you pay attention to the interest rate.

  2. Yes you just have to call and have your limit raised. They have to approve it though. They most likely won't if you have a poor record of paying it off, or if you haven't had the card for long.

My limit was $1500, three years later it is $3000

Be patient if they won't give it to you.

  3. I'd say keep up with having a good credit score, that is the only way, then the banks will trust you with more

  5. You can apply for a credit limit increase with your bank and depending on your credit check and financial position they may or may not give you a higher credit limit.

Why do you want a higher limit though? Putting your limit up on a maxed out card rather than paying it off is a great way to get yourself into bad debt if you're not careful.

  6. You can apply for a temperory increase in credit card. This option will be in your internet banking. Once it is approved by the bank,, you can use it.

  7. Yes there are 2 ways:

    1) Asked for temporary limit increase from the bank

    otherwise

    2) Make advance payment to your credit card limit and you can used it.

  8. No it is not. That's why its called a limit.
