I know that in the US at least adopting from foster care is an option even though people seem to go through other routes first.

  1. Yes, they can be.  But I thought I read somewhere that the child's name cannot be changed and their birth certificates cannot be altered...?  I might be wrong, or thinking of another country.

Wow, alk..."I think it is a crime how they sell these children..."

Er, no, it IS a crime that they sell children.  What's more of a crime is that people continue to buy them and further encourage the illegal practices that are going on in countries like Guatemala.

  2. Im honestly not sure. i know im having my first baby this june, and awhile after, plan to adopt from guatemala.....the adoption is only 6,000but to get them into the us , its 20,000.....i t hink its a crime how they sell these children. So m any of these children would be in loving homes but , man i could see if 20,000 went t o the mother, but no..the government...i find that hard to swallow. Good luck to you darling!

Ps. Your daughter in your icon is beyond PRECIOUS!!!!!! I can only hope my daughter is as beautiful!!!

  3. Yes you can.

  4. Yes. You can adopt them. And then force them into child prostitution in the United States for Happy Meals from McDonalds.

    RIP Heath Ledger

  5. Last time I checked Aus. didn't have many people in foster care at all, poss do you know stats? not that that means they don't deserve homes, because they do, just wanted to acknowledge the lack of people in foster care :)
