Can you all give me some great ideas for a fall foliage type wedding?

I am looking for some great ideas for my upcoming vow renewals (10 years)! We are having it at a lodge in central PA during peak foliage season! My dress is white with red striping and beading and my girls dresses match it. My hubby is wearing a black tux and red vest. I want the colors to be very nature inspired... Dark reds, burnt oranges, Deep Yellows...I am trying very hard to stay away from the green. So any ideas would be great. I am thinking mums, hay bales, pumpkins.... any great ideas would be fantastic! I am looking for something very detailed and nature oriented. As long as its not raining or freezing its going to be outside on the lawn near a pond, if it does its going to be in a great room or under the tent! About 80people will be coming! Thanks

  1. I don't know all that you're looking for but I have a couple wedding favors suggestions below that include rich colors and foliage theme.  I hope this helps on one aspect.

    Take care.

  2. Well, red isn't exactly a fall color, but if that's what you're going with...  you can have bales of hay, and dried corn stalks too.  And indian corn for color on the tables, as well as small pumpkins and squash, along with all colorful leaves.  You can also make the small pumpkins into candle holders, and also use them as name plates.  You can use a giant fishing net behind your main table with indian corn hanging from it along with colorful leaves.  You can use silk flowers all in fall colors (cheap at the dollar store) and even use squash and pumpkins as vases.  You can put a tall candle in a jar and then put that in a bigger bowl and fill the bowl with all different types of nuts, walnuts, acorns, hazelnuts, chestnuts, pecans, almonds, (in their shells!) for wonderful fall colors.  You can have bowls of fall fruit, like pomegranate and colorful apples.  You can spread real colorful leaves on the floor (or grass), pick them the day before or the morning of.  Bales of hay can be used as seats or as serving tables as well as mini-walls.  (You can probably rent them from a farm.)  If the pond is very close, you can have a canoe at the edge near you filled with hay and colorful leaves and flowers.  Have spikes of cattails.  Just start using your imagination and look around.  You can make a wedding arch with fall colored balloons tied together, and have colorful leaves hanging from them.  Have them anchored down with big pumpkins filled with mums.  Have fun!

  3. I would also use runners of fall-colored leaves to decorate. I often get these from Michael's or a craft store to decorate for fall.

Maybe small wreaths with a candle in the middle for a tabletopper/centerpiece (if you are doing those). Like this, only smaller ones:

There are much better ones, of course, the ones above look a little cheesy to me, but it's the only pic I could find.

I would go to Michael's or your local craft store. I went three weeks ago, and they already had fall/Halloween decorations out! That will be a great way to get inspired.

You could also find some deep orange/burnt orange table clothes. I have seen some beautiful ones.

You might see something you like at this website for flowers (I think the first one is beautiful):
