  1. I agree it's a forum question, but I can relate...

    Hi Karen,

I too have a broken ankle so I know what it's like. In my case, I work for a small company that is going to let me go due to being out of work for so long. I was originally supposed to start back to college to major in photography and I had to cancel all my classes except 1 online course. At first I was really bummed about all this, but I decided how I wanted to feel about it. I'm trying to look at the glass half full idea.

First, I hope you're like me and able to collect disability. That helps a lot!

Instead of getting down, I decided to educate myself. For example, I had to drop an Algebra class, but that didn't stop me from getting "Algebra for Dummies" and learning on my own. I also got Photoshop and am going through lots of tutorials to learn it. Doing this self-education not only keeps me busy, but will help a great deal when I start these these classes in school.

I've been reading a LOT and sitting outside as much as possible. It's good to get out if you can, just for a change of enviornment.

If you're home by yourself during the day, have a family member help with meal preparation. I have several meals in tupperware so I can heat them up and carry them to the table in a grocery bag. My drinks are in a thermos with a strap so I can throw it around my neck. Where there's a will, there's a way and you'll find little tricks as you go to make life easier.

You're probably going to be really sore for a few days while your body adjusts to using your muscles in a different way. The first few days, I felt like I'd been in a car accident. Everything hurt! But it passes and you'll be fine. I'm a pro on my crutches now!

Most important is how you look at this. You should try to see it as the universe telling you it's time to slow down and take a little break. Take the time you have as an opportunity to express yourself and learn a new skill or hobby, or take whatever your current hobby is and become a master at it! We all have a choice in how we look at obstacles in our lives, so choose wisely.

I hope this helps you feel better. You're welcome to contact me if you want to vent or need support.

    Good luck!!

  2. Dear Karen,

I don't know you, but I would like to wish you a really really good and speedy recovery, lots of happiness and I send you my love as well.

    Wish you the best.

  3. That's not really a question and shouldn't be posted on yahoo answers, it should be posted on a forum.

But seeing as you have posted it I guess I could say get well soon who ever you may be.

Also, why don't you get her friends to send her cards. That will give her more encouragement than a few people of yahoo answers saying Get Well Soon.

  4. NO

This is Yahoo answers not a forum.

  5. Aww bless her! I'm sure she'll be fine again before too long, sending lots of love and best wishes :) xx
