Can you answer my softball question?

Hi Im joining softball on Wednesday and I need some tips on how to be a really good player. That would really help!

I'm guessing you never played before or are preparing for tryouts.  I just finished my four years of playing college softball and what I would suggest is to know the basics...throwing, hitting, baserunning, bunting, fielding (infield and outfield unless you prefer one over the other), and basic knowledge of the game as far as hitting counts, knowing each position by name and number i.e. 2nd base is number 4, and having a general idea of situations i.e. bunt with a runner on 1st and less than 2 outs.  Sounds easy enough for the last part but some people don't know even when they've played for a while.   Basically, to be a really good player you have to be mentally and physically strong and put in the time and practice and effort.

      They say softball is a game that is 90% mental and 10%physical and it is very true.
