Sorry, I missed Coffee Friday. I wasn't around this weekend.

Please pick one or the other and WHY:

1) Requires the best reflexes: a fencer?…..OR a goalie?

2) Who do you have more respect for: “floor hockey players” or “field hockey players?

3) Better game: Foosball or Air hockey?

4) Who would win this fight: Craig Ramsey (NHL) vs. Gordon Ramsey (Chef)?

5) Which team is missed more: the Hartford Whalers or the Winnipeg Jets?

6) Requires the most accurate shot: a Hockey Forward or a Golfer?

7) Would rather be the proud owners of: Don Cherry’s wardrobe OR Brain Engblom’s hair?

  1. 1. Goalie

    2. Floor hockey players

    3. Air hockey

    4. Gordon Ramsey, I love that guy.

    5. The Winnipeg Jets

    6. Both

    7. Don Cherry's wardrobe

  2. Welcome back!

Goalie. Why? Because this is the f***in hockey section and I said so.

floor hockey players, I used to play in gym, it's pretty fun.

Air Hockey. I'm not much of a Foosball fan.

Gordon Ramsey's got knives and a temper, depends on the venue. On ice Craig, in "h**l's Kitchen" Gordon.

THE WHALERS!!! You see hat's all over the place in CT, it's all we had. Hartford is the sewage dump between Boston and NYC, and the Whalers were our Air Freshener.

Hockey Forward. Golf you have a 30 yard wide fairway to put the ball into. Hockey you've got inches. I'm skipping work to play in a golf tourney tomorrow YIPPEE.

Cherry's wardrobe. Theres a pimp by down where I work who would gladly throw me some coin for his suits.

  3. 1)Fencer-You better be good unless you like being stabbed.

2)Floor hockey-Best reason of all because I did it.

3)Air Hockey-And I challenge anyone on this site to a game.

4)Craig Ramsey.unless ol Gordo can throw his Chefs hat at him and distract him.

5)I'd say Winnipeg because they were Canadian and not too many left.

    6)Golfer-How big is a net compared to a hole?And I don't remember a 380 ft slap shot to beat a goalie.

7)Engbloms hair..Hey at least he has it unlike Grapes.

  4. 1.Goalie, I think they have to be more aware and quick

2.Floor hockey players, i dont really know why

3.Air hockey, I may suck at it but its Fun

4.Craig Ramsey , he is a hockey player so he better win

5.Winnipeg jets, i don't miss the whalers because they are now the hurricanes

6.Hockey forward, they both do but i think hockey has more obstacles to face

    7. Engblom's hair, I would not want to be the owner of that wardrobe

  5. 1). A Goalie because I was one....my teeth,collar bone,fingers ,toes,skull,ribs,chin,noseX14 and knees where not as strong as the pucks I've stopped.

    2).GIRL field hockey players....the skirt+the anger...."when tough meets Classy"

    3).Air Hockey.....What is a foos...(pulls finger) .."too much fruit".

4).Gordon, he has Knives and fire.

    5).I'd say the Whalers

6).Never played golf but I think that's like comparing apples to oranges. A dart player or a sniper. Tough call...I'll say hockey since this is not the golf section.

7). Englom's hair.....I have kind of a "Gel-met" myself during the day so I am one of his kind.

  6. 1) Goalie - All that padding and still have to be fast

2)Field hockey. It is hotter outside

3)air hockey - I rock at it. Joe you are officially challenged

4)Craig Ramsey, The chef would only win a screaming match, unless he pulls out the knives

5)The Jets - I know many people in that area and they are dying for them to come back

6)Forward- In golf to don't have anyone trying to stop your ball. In hockey there are six people trying to stop your shot (all the other team's players)

7)The wardrobe. I could make it look really good

  7. 1) A goalie requires the best reflexes because of all of the different kinds of shots they have to face each night.

    2) I have more respect for field hockey players because I find it harder to play in a field rather than inside of a smooth floor.

    3) Air hockey is a better game because I'm better at it and is more fun in my opinion.

    4) Craig Ramsey (NHL) would win in a fight. Hockey players should be stronger than a chef.

    5) The Winnipeg Jets are missed much more, especially by Canadians. I believe that Canada needs more teams in the NHL. So many fans with only a few teams.

    6) A golfer requires the most accurate shot because they have hit hit the ball much farther than the length of a a NHL arena and they have to get it into a small hole. Players usually have alot of open net to shoot at.

    7) Don Cherry’s wardrobe, I love to see all of his different outfits.

  8. 1 a goalie - that puck is coming at him around 100mph

2 field hockey - they take a lot of abuse w/o any padding

3 Air Hockey - I could never get the hang of Foosball

4 Craig - unless Gordon has his knives!

5 not sure, I personally don't miss either one

6 Hockey Forward - he usually only gets one shot at it, a golfer can make it up on the next shot

7 Cherry's wardrobe - but only as long as I didn't have to go out in public.

  9. 1.) Goalie.  Fencers just have to dodge and poke.  Goalies have split seconds to decide whether or not to save with the stick, glove, blocker, or pads.  They have to catch pucks, and have react to little rubber disks coming at them at 100 mph.

2.) Floor hockey players.  Field hockey balls go no where because the passes are so short.  Floor hockey is more fast paced.

    3.) Air hockey.  :-D

4.) Craig Ramsey.  Gordon Ramsey just yells at people.  I'm sure he's secretly a wussie who can't back up his bark with bite.  But then again he could hit Craig Ramsey with frying pans...

5.) Winnipeg Jets :-(  They want their team back!

6.) Golfer.  They have to hit that little ball into the little hole over a huge course in like 3 shots.  Except hockey forwards are cooler :-)

7.) Would it be too greedy to ask for both?  How cool would that look.  Sporting those spiffy suits and that rock solid partial mullet kept up with all that gel.

  10. 1.  A Goalie.  All three forms of competitive fencing (epee, foil, sabre) have a specific area that is to be targeted.  Hockey goaltenders have to fend off areas that could be 3-4 feet away from them.  The lateral reflexes required by a goaltender are far more movement than any fencer is required (especially considering the width of the fencer's mat when compared to a goatender's crease

    2.  Field Hockey Players.  Floor hockey is a relatively easy and tame sport that doesn't use an indian rubber all, curved bats for sticks, etc.  I've played both many times, and I never felt as beat up after a floor hockey game as I did after a field hockey match

    3.  Air Hockey.  I simply hate foosball, as do most of my friends.  we grew up with Coleco Air Hockey (and my best friend still holds a tournament among friends every Christmas)

    4.  Do you mean Craig RamsAy?  I'm going with Craig.  I've seen him fight and he's no slouch.

    5.  The Winnipeg Jets.  Over the last 8 months on Yahoo Answers.................68 questions to bring hockey back to Winnipeg, 14 to bring it back to Hartford.

    6.  Theoretically a golfer................the hole is a LOT smaller than a net.

    7.  Don Cherry's wardrobe.  The hair might walk away!

  11. 1. goalie

    2.ice hockey sorry

    3.air hockey

    4. craig

    5. jets

    6.hockey forward

7.Cherrys wardrobe are you kiddng me id kill for that

  12. 1- a groundhog. Nobody wants to get squished by a car.

2- Field hockey. Need higher fitness level.

3- Air Hockey.  Just because it's hockey

4- Gordon...he'd curse Craig into submission

5- Winterpeg Jets. What else do they have to do out there?

6- A hockey forward. In golf you get the ball within' 10 yards of the hole and you got a shot at a birdie. In hockey you get the puck 10 yards away from the net and you start thinking about taking up golf.

7- Don Cherry's wardrobe. At least it looks like they have some creativity.

  13. 1) close call. I'm going with fencer

    2) Field hockey. That's a LOT of running.

    3) Foosball. Skill, as opposed to chaotic flailing.

    4) Craig, if fists were involved and Gord if they were trading insults.

    5) For me, the Whale. Mike Rogers, Blaine Stoughton, Cooperalls...come on, how can you NOT miss that?

    6) A hockey player has to place the puck in 3" area while skating and being hit or hacked. A golfer has a 'fairway' to hit while everyone remains quiet and allows him all the time he needs.

    7) Dress like a clown or have a rat sit on my head? At least Engblom's hair can be treated with conditioner.

That last one, by the way, is easily a top 10 'best question asked' on this forum. Kudos.

  14. 1) a goalie, all a fencer has to do his keep his hands out of the way of the hammer

    2) field hockey, i am one

    3) Foosball, takes more skill

    4) Ramsey, why? well...why not?

    5) don't know, before my time

    6) hockey forward, don't have many goalies in golf

    7) Don Cherry's wardrobe, i would sell it on ebay

  15. 1) Fencer.  Anything with knives/swords require lightning reflexes.

    2) Floor hockey players, because that's what I play.

    3) Toughie!  I love both...can I call it a tie?

    4) Craig Ramsey.  Gordon Ramsey's nothing outside his kitchen.

    5) Offhanded guess: Winnipeg.

    6) Hockey forward.  Golfers don't have to factor in the opposing defensemen and the goalie, and they have all the time they want to make the shot.

    7) Lmao, Don Cherry's wardrobe.  Now, that doesn't mean I'd wear it...

  16. 1. A goalie. Those pucks are like bullets.

    2. Floor Hockey Players because I associate Field Hockey with Cricket, and we all know how much I hate insects.

    3. Air Hockey! Especially when the puck smashes into your fingers on the table.

    4. No idea, but I brought the beer, let's watch.

    5. They are both equally missed because it sucks to lose a team if you live in those cities (Cleveland Barons of the late 70's need to be brought back).

    6. Hockey Forward. Golfers aren't snipers.

    7. How about both? Then we can open a circus for those things.

Haley - Would you really invade Cuba like you said you would? That ain't cool! Me and Fidel is tight, yo. LMAO

    Haley - What are daps?

Haley - LMFAO! Oh for sure, me and Castro are tight like that! Everything is on Wiki, it's like Chinatown in New York City, if they don't have it, then it doesn't exist.

  17. 1) Goalie. They have to have cat-like reflexes to be good at there position. If you don't see that puck your done for.

    2) Field Hockey.Floor Hockey is a ripoff of Ice Hockey!

    3) Air Hockey.Too me it's more fun.

    4) Probably the chef. He's more younger and you know what happens when your 57.

    5) Winnipeg.Everyone is trying to get them a new team.

    6) Golfer.Have you seen Ryan Smyth? He just bashes his stick into the goalie until it goes in.LOL

    7) Don Cherry's wardrobe.I would love to wear a bright pink suit.Wouldn't you?

  18. 1. Fencer. You lose you're a Greek entre. Goalie misses it's a goal no big deal.

    2. Field hockey players. They venture onto this forum and still come back for more.

    3. Air hockey Just look at the players a paddle and puck or a bunch of wooden soldiers doing the Cancan.

    4. Gordon he's armed (see 1. above)

    5. Who??

    6. A golfer. A hockey forward misses his target and the puck bounces back off the boards. A golfer misses his shot and he's out $6.00

    7. Does Don's wallet come with the Wardrobe?

  19. 1) fencer

    2) field hockey players

    3) foosball

    4) Craig Ramsey by a long shot

    5) Hartford Whalers without a doubt.   When the Whalers left, the NHL took a huge nosedive in a popularity and never overcame it....

    6) Golfer

    7) Don Cherry's wardrobe!    I think his suits are made by Coppley.

  20. 1)GOALIE i think it is clear

    2)field hockey i play

    3)better-air hockey harder-foosball

    4)craig

    5)dont know about either...im young

    6)golfer...the hole is pretty small

7)DON CHERRYS WARDROBE i love it, he is absolutly insane i always look forward to seeing which crazy outfit he is wearing

  21. 1) Depends on the goalie.

    2) Field Hockey, since they're an actual Olympic Sport.

    3) Air Hockey.  I'm not too good at Foosball.

    4) Fist fight or yelling contest?  Either way, I think Chef could take him.

    5) I miss the Jets.

    6) Depends on the tournament.

    7) Grapes' suits.

  22. 1. A goalie

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02ftwn6SC...

    2. Field hockey

    Floor hockey's easy

    3. Foosball. I am AMAZING at foosball

I've got a wicked wrister in foosball

    4. Ramsey!

They don't call 'em "Rammer" for nothing

    5. Winnipeg Jets

A Canadian team just so select Canadians can whine about how certain teams should relocate

    6. Golfer

A golf ball's small than a puck and the golf hole is certainly smaller than a net.

    7. Cherry's wardrobe!

I would not be "proud" if I owned ANYTHING associated with Engbloom

EDIT - Dangit Haley you're gonna make me work during the summer?

HALEY - We own a foosball table so I have experience.

No kidding! I like a good shower, but the thunder I can't take. We've got a heck of a lot more of these in the summer. Rains practically every day down here.

  23. 1. Goalie, they have to react really fast.

    2. Field hockey...I don't know my sister plays and she gets hurt a lot playing.

    3. Air hockey, because it has the word HOCKEY in it.

    4. Gordon Ramsey (only because I wanted to say this)...

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

    5. Winnipeg

    6. Golfer, one mistake can lose the whole tournament for them and have to be way precise. Hockey players get more than one shot in a game and if they miss once it's not that big a deal...sometimes.

    7. Don Cherry's wardrobe...I could sell it for more.

  24. 1) Fencer.  Goalies don't die if they miss.

    2) Field, I guess.  I don't know why.  It just sounds tougher than "floor"!

    3) I love them BOTH!!  If I had to choose, I would take air hockey because it's less complicated.

    4) Bwahahaha!!  Sorry about Ramsay getting fired, Homes.

    5) Since we have the Avs and the Canes, don't we really have both teams in different locales?  I guess I'll say the Jets for my Canadian brethren.

    6) Who watches golf?

    7) I think I would look better in Cherry's clothes than he does.  I have to draw the line with the mullet.

  25. 1) As biased as I am, I am going to pick fencing.  They are always within close range and they are lightning fast.

    2) Field hockey players.  Most of the floor hockey players I have met/played against have little if any clue about the unwritten codes of the game.  I was once permanently banned from a floor hockey league for getting into 3 fights in a 10 game regular season.  They had a 1-3-5 fighting rule which carried over from year to year.  No-one had ever used all three fights in the same season.

    3) Air hockey.  Why?  Because it's hockey and not soccer.

    4) Ramsey.  Why? Because he's a hockey player.

    5) Winnipeg.  It's Canada.  New England loves their hockey but it's a way of life in Canada.

    6) Hockey forward.  Why? Because it's hockey.  Seriously, you get more leeway in golf.  Even if you are wide of the fairway, you have an opportunity to recover.  In hockey, you have a much smaller target or hole and if you miss, you have much less of a chance of recovering.

    7) Cherry's wardrobe.  I could probably raise a bundle of money auctioning off the wardrobe.  People are not going to pay for a dead ferret.

  26. 1. Goalie, I assume he'd have to think faster and have way more maneuvers to anticipate.

    2. I really don't know anything about field hockey, so I don't know how it compares to ice hockey...so out of ignorance, I prefer floor hockey.

3.Air hockey, I can't deal with the little guys on sticks, I just don't have the coordination.

    4. Never understimate a man with a spatula and a tude.

    5. It seems we have more Jets devotees here, but I liked the Whalers, so I win.

    6. Absolutely a hockey forward...he has one shot to get the puck in the net, a golfer has to get soemwhere near it, then he gets to try again, and nobody tries to stop him. Take that, Tiger.

    7. Don Cherry's garb...how many pairs of shoes could I justify buying?!?!

  27. hahahahahahahahahahahah Brian Engbloms hair hahahahahahaha

  28. 1. Tendy

    2. floor hockey

    3. Fooseball

    4. Gordon Ramsey

    5. Winnipeg Jets without a doubt

    6. Hockey player

    7. Cherrys clothes... not all but some

  29. 1) goalie- Definitely

2)Floor hockey players- because ounce in a while i play floor hockey

    3)Air Hockey!!!! love it!

    4) gotta give it to Craig Ramsey but Gordon wouldnt back down without a battle!

    5) Winnipeg Jets

    6) uhh this ones hard!!! i'll get back to you!

    7)lol... Don Cherry's Wardrobe

  30. 1. I think a fencer has to have the best "reflexes." Whenever I think of that, I think fast-twitch muscles, and it's much easier to use those for light things. As a goalie, you need to use all three twitches of muscle because of all the weight you carry.

    2. Field hockey players. It's actually a profession in parts of the world and a recognized Olympic sport. Sledge-hockey is more respected than floor hockey for that reason (that and they ram each other in sleds).

    3. Air hockey. Foosball's fun, but I prefer air hockey.

    4. I'll take the angry, drunken Scot with an arsenal of knives any day of the week. lol

    5. Jets because there are more Winnipegers and Manitobans actually care more about hockey than people in Hartford and...Connecticut?

    6. To-may-to, to-mah-to. I think that both are very different because of the swings and the science of the objects. I find that it's a lot easier to shoot accurately with a hockey stick than a golf driver (my approach and iron shots are NOT to be messed with though...!). Also, in golf, you try to get your ball to an area that you want, and you can control it with a spin. You can't really put a spin on a puck and have it go where you want it to go; the chaos of the aerodynamics are just too unpredictable. Plus, in golf, you get to take your time making your shot, while in hockey, you only have a few seconds.

    7. I'll go with Cherry because I have no idea who Engblom is.

  31. 1)  Goalies.  What reflexes do fencers need?  As long as the hammer doesn't hit your thumb you are doing alright.  I've put up a couple of fences in my day.............and let me tell you........fencing is hard work............but easy on the reflexes.

    2)  Floor Hockey Players by far.  Gym Floor burn is far worse than grass burn.

    3)  I've never played foosball so I'm going with Air Hockey, although I've only played it a couple of times as well.

    4)  Gordon Ramsey?  The chef?  The one with knives and skewers?  I'm still taking Craig.  And you misspelled his last name.

    5)  I have to choose one?  I'm going to say the Quebec Nordiques..................just to be different.  If I have to be a lemming, I'm going with Winnipeg.

    6)  Have you seen the size of a fairway and a golf green compared to the width and height of a goalie net.  Hockey player for sure

    7)  I'm going with Cherry;s wardrobe, I could probably sell it at a second hand store easier than whatever passes for Engblom's hair.
