I will be visiting the UK but I need to apply for my Spanish visa at the same time since I am going to Spain a month later. If i go to the consulate in the UK can I get my visa there? Do I leave my passport with them or is it a quick process?

  1. You could call the Spanish embassy here in the States and ask or call the embassy in the U.K.  Their embassy in the U.K. should be able to issue a visa.

  2. I am an American. When I lived in England I took a holiday in Spain and didn't have to get a visa and I can't imagine why you would need one.

Just present your American passport at the Spanish border and they will let you right in and they probably won't even open it to look at the picture.

  3. If you hold a valid US passport, you do not need a visa to enter any of the Schengen countries (including Spain) for up to 90 days (work is not authorized).  See the following website:

  4. Aliens just like an American in UK can apply for a visa at the Spanish Embassy to visit Spain.
