Can you apply to work somewhere just for daytime/evening shifts, but not weekends?

Yes, usually when you apply for part-times jobs (retail, restaraunts, ect) there is a spot on the application that asks for each day if you can work morning, mid day, or night.  Just check the shifts for each day you want to work.

yes, but most retail places are the busiest on the weekends and that's when they need the most help.

Yes,I use to be a hostess and a lot of people didn't want to work the crazy weekends.They usually prefer someone who will work the weekends because that is the busiest time but still if a place needs help they will still hire you.If you are trying for a job,Good luck!;)
