When you buy something, can you ask for an additional copy(sic!) of your receipt? The reason I ask is that I need to send one receipt for tax revenue and one for the insurance company for medical bills.

  1. You can ask but they can refuse.   Make a photo copy and you'll be fine.  No need to irritate the minimum wage cashier, not to mention other impatient patrons behind you.

  2. It is unlikely that a retailer would be prepared to give you 2 receipts for one transaction. If they did the process would be open to sever misuse and abuse.

As already said why not make your own photocopy.

Better still send both recipitents a photo copy and keep the original yourself in case any problems occur.

  3. I doubt you can get two copies of the same receipt.  Why can't you just make a copy of the bill on a copy machine?  It'll still be the same bill; one will be the original and one will be a copy.
