  1. You definitely can. As long as you got yourself an attorney, and pay for your bail.

  2. In most larger towns, they have a bail schedule applicable to all but the most serious charges.  That is the bail that is set without any decision by a judge.  in order to get it raised or lowered, a judge has to rule on the subject.  The standard bail schedule, however, is available within a couple hours of being arrested.  Most sheriff's will take credit cards for bail, but not all.

  3. Yes, in fact a fraud suspect bailed herself out of jail with a credit card a few years ago, here in Dallas, Texas, and it turned out that she had stolen the credit card.

    Good Luck

  4. I think the previous answers , missed the point, assuming you have the funds, If arrested , you will have to go before a judge (initial appearance court) where you will be informed of the charges you are accused of, and bond will be then set.  Usually , this court appearance takes place within a few hours after you are booked. But, if you are arrested say, 11:30pm, forget making bail, that same day..

  5. It depends on the jail, the court and/or the bail bondsman.  If they accept credit cards, you're good to go.  If not, you may be able to use the credit card for a cash advance, but the interest rates are horrendous.
