Yip... you definately can, but your work-load/ job opportunities would be severely limited. Of course this depends on what you beem as "TRANSPORT", as a top dressing pilot still "transports" fertiliser, and an air-force pilot "transports" a pay-load... so I suggest if you would like a more specific answer that you define your meaning of transport!, as that is basically the essence of aviation!

You can be a commercial pilot without flying a transport - it just does not pay nearly as well.  Jobs include things like pipeline patrol, banner towing, flight instruction, aerial photography, cropdusting, flying charters, a corporate pilot, or a bush pilot.
