You can be arrested anywhere in the country if you have an active warrant. Whether they hold you and extradite you back to the court system depends on the crime. If it is a misdemeanor they will but only if you are in the same state. If it is a felony they take it a lot more serious and will transfer you back to where the offense was committed regardless of how far away you are in the country.

I don't mean to preach but I know I would sleep better at night if I turned myself in.

"Geographical limitations on a warrant" doesn't make any sense. If you are asking if you can be arrested on a warrant outside of the police juristiction in which the warrant was issued then the answer is yes. Usually for a misdemeanor it is just statewide but it depends on the county.. some counties will drive out of state just to come and get you on a misdemeanor. Others will not. Felonies are nationwide and you will usually be extradited back to the state in which you were issued the warrant. Seriuos felonies are international.. which means that if you are caught in another country they will run you through something called "interpol" it's like NCIC of the international world and you will be extradited back to America if you are in an extraditial country.

If you have a warrant you can be arrested anywhere anytime.  Some warrants have nighttime restrictions, meaning the police can't go actively looking for you at night (unless you were stopped for a different reason).

Some warrants, specifically smaller ones like unpaid speeding tickets, are not extraditable, meaning that the agency won't waste the money to go pick you up.  That doesn't mean you are clear, however.   You can still be arrested and processed for it until the jail confirms that the other agency won't be coming to pick you up.

That warrant is also a valid reason to pull you over at any time.  The warrant can also affect your financial records.

Warrants don't have geographical warrants. You can be arrested anywhere for a warrant. If you are out of state and the state that issued the warrant is not willing to extradite, you would not be held.

Sure. But each entity that enters warrants into NCIC specifies how far they will go to extradite. Generally, no one goes out of state for misdemeanors, and very minor warrants can't be entered. With lesser felonies, they often won't go beyond an adjacent state.

To clarify a bit. Warrants are directed to peace officers in the state in which it's entered. You can be arrested in another state, but technically you're not arrested on the warrant itself. You're arrested as a "fugitive from  justice" in another state. That sort of arrest is authorized in the state law of where you're arrested.

No - listed on the warrants will be "COURT ISSUED Geographic limitations".  The warrant would be disseminated as not valid to a officer on the street by the dispatcher if they are outside the listed/specified county, state or geographic border.

It costs a lot of money to expedite prisoners than you think. And there's a lot of paper work. Misdemeanor warrants don't show up state wide, as felony warrants do since it's a larger bail amount and longer jail time.

AND felonies are generally a little worse than misdemeanors.
