Can you be friends with your ex and keep it platonic?

Me and this guy who were dating broke up about two weeks ago. It was a mustual break up and we ended on kind of good terms. Now we are talking and stuff and he says he wants to see me in person one of these days to see my new piercing. I still have feelings for him and i don't think he has completely gotten over me. If we continue to be friends do you think it will ever be JUST friends or will there always be those feelings there? We really cared about eachother ... is this a step into getting back together?

he's just using that as an exuse to see you or maybe he wants to keep you as a friend but not a girlfriend you seem like you would be confused so don't be close friends more like acquaintances

it happens- though it is very rare...personally, whenever I have tried to be "just friends" either him or I wound up with hurt feelings.

It could be worth the effort- it just won't be easy.

It's so hard to be friends with your ex, it really is.  I can't stand most of my exes, and the one that I am still kind of friends with wants to nail me... so yeah.  It can happen but it's rare and it's hard.
