Can you be nearsighted and farsighted on both eyes together?

or can you either only be nearsighted, or only be farsighted..

  1. you can be near in one eye and far in the other, if so then you have the best of both worlds as long as your Rx is not real bad.

    all people over the age of 50 lose the ability to see near clearly and the older you get the worse it gets, therefore you need a bifocal, progressive or trifocal to see near.  This is called Presbyopia.

  3. It is possible to be both but very unusual.  Usually you are one or the other BUT you can have astigmatism with near or farsightedness (which is like needing fine tuning on a TV).
