Can you be overweight and snowboard?

  1. Ummm, yes.  It wouldn't be any harder than if you were skinny and didn't know how to.


  2. You might need a bigger board, but yah, sure.

    It might be a little more difficult because of increased momentum and whatnot.

    But it's great exercise and if you do it enough you won't be overweight for long.

  3. The two things that are much harder - pushing yourself up off the snow over the board and holding your weight on an edge for a long sustained turn (like riding down a trail).

    I have taught some people that are overweight that had good muscle tone and good balance that didn't have any problem learning. Work on your core strength and your legs and you will be able to learn easier.
