My sister and I gave a colorblind test to someone who has difficulty telling colors apart. She passed the test perfectly but she said if was hard to see the shapes in the pictures, but the shapes were clearly seen without stuggle by my sister and me. Is there anything that could explain why this is?

  1. As a partly color blind person, I can attest that it is possible. Approximately 10% of the male population is partly color blind. Less than 1% of women are partly color blind. The color blindness gene is passed from the mother to a male child.

People who are partially color blind usually have troubles with different shades of similar colors. The standard color blindness test uses the combination of shades to determine what color pairs a person has trouble with... that is why some people do not see any numbers in the circles.

The common color blind pairs are red/green and blue/green.

I can see the actual color- I can tell the difference between a bright red object and a bright green object. Make is a very pale red- light pink and a pale green and all bets are off. Same with blue and green. Bright blue and bright green- easy

give me turquoise and in some light it will look blue and in other light will look green.

It makes life interesting... when I was a kid, my mother used to color code my clothes with numbers... 1's would go with 1's or 3's, 2's would not fo with 3's but would go with 4's... I had a chart in my closet for a long time... Don't laugh at your friend who is partly color blind... it can really be embarassing to not be able to see colors like every one else.

  2. i dont no why it is but yeah u can be my teacher is

  3. Colorblind does not mean you can't see colors at all.  It just means that you see colors differently,  and there are differing levels of colorblindness, they're not all the same.

  4. some people can't see certain colors

its uslually in pairs and are the color set oposite from each other on the color wheel ex: red and green.yellow and purple...

  5. Yes. You can have a 'weakness' in perceiving certain

colors, (Red eg.), and see the others quite as well as

    anyone else.

  6. well maybe she just needs ordinary glasses or something... colorblind just means that you cant see certain colors, like the most common one is that you cant tell the difference between blue and green, but there are many different forms.
