being arrogant does not mean you dont care about people most arrogant people are very insecure and use their arrogance to keep from getting hurt because it makes it seem like they dont care when they do

Confidence tends to bring on arrogance. It is totally separate from being selfish which is what prevents us from caring about others.

I think you can be a cold blooded serial killer and still care about certain people--you can't stop yourself from loving people you care about. So the answer to your question is a 100% yes--everyone's a little arrogant sometimes =)

You can have an inflated sense of yourself as a defense mechanism for a poor self esteem and have a somewhat of a regard for others but overly arrogant people rarely care a lot for anyone else or view others as equals so I don't see how it's possible.
