  1. Yes, it would actually be easier to do it without gfetting the LPN. They are two separate things. You may have to get your CNA, and it is helpful, but that is much shorter than becoming an LPN.

  2. Yes, they are two separate professions.

  3. Yes you can.  LPN programs can take 3-4 semesters, and RN at least 5 semesters at the community college level.

In some states after a year of RN education you are able to sit for the NCLEX PN.

  4. You go to college to get a BSN degree (or to community college to get a 2 year RN) to become a professional nurse.  An LPN (CNA in my state) has much less training and can be a career bedpan jockey.

  5. yes stop asking dumb questions

  6. Yes. Just apply to a RN diploma program (community colleges/ Hospital schools), or a BSN program (4yr college degree). You can go straight for your RN.

  7. Yes...you just need to fulfill the educational and certification criteria of becoming an RN.

  8. Absolutely, I am an RN and did all the ladders first CNA, then LPN, Then RN.  I highly recommend being a CNA to see if you can handle the type of work.  There is a lot of bodily fluids involved.  If you can be a CNA then I recommend going straight for your RN Degree.  Good luck with your choice!
