  1. It depends on the severity. For example, if you can run a good 1.5 mile time, and it doesn't really affect your physical performance, yes. But here's the key: keep it to yourself; if you make it through the training, that's all that matters.  If thy find out some how, you'll have to fight for a waiver, usually this means getting outside doctors to vouch for you, then repeatedly applying to appeal for reconsideration.

    I'm in Navy flight training right now, and I have several friends who had to fight the NAMI-wammie, or medical screening. But perserverance is absolutely #1!  

    Good luck, and if you are sverely asthmatic, try civilian aviation if flying is your real goal.
