  1. If you can write- you can become a journalist. Degrees are nice, but no one will really care what your degree is in, just make sure you have some nice pieces to show in your portfolio.

  2. Why don't you get established as a Psychiatrist first and then once you have some savings- maybe you can consider taking time to write. You could even write self-help or any other type of psychology topic.

  3. Sure you can.  You can get a degree in basketweaving and be a journalist.  I am not joking.  If you want to be in front of the camera, you have to be pretty (or handsome).

    But

Journalism is dead.  Ask a newspaper publisher in anytown USA.

  4. I would think so, but would probably be tougher to break into the industry with.

  5. YES

  6. Yes.  You do not need a journalism degree to be a reporter.  You don't even need a college degree at all, in fact.

But you should know how to write, research, listen, and ask questions.

A degree in psychology would be helpful.

  7. Your degree is in Psychology? Are you just trying to see how many people will actually answer this question? If you have a degree then you are smart enough to know that you use your education to earn a living, and that if you wish to pursue Journalism, you do that on the side in order to see if it goes any where. And possibly take a course in journalism to learn how to perfect your writing skills. I wish you the best regardless. Love, Kat  (not Lab Rat. I ate the Lab Rat)
