  1. sure can. anyone can apply for and receive a pardon as long as it was eight or more years since you committed an offence. hypothetically you could still be serving time.

  2. Not unless you've been pardoned for it.

There is a requirement for a lawyer to be "of good moral character".

  3. Depends on the severity of the crimes. I know solicitors who have been done for deception on a large scale, others who have been done for burglary and even one who had stabbed another person. Obviously, these people are few and far between, and most solicitors have a clean record. Have you spoken with a practicing solicitor? They maybe able to guide you better.

  4. nope

  5. I would have thought it would be an advantage to be a crook if you were planning to be a lawyer.

  6. In UK yes.But you cannot become a barrister.A barrister is able to be

called to become a judge.Couldn't have a corrupt judge now.Can we.

  7. Don't know for sure, but there's certainly plenty who obtained criminal records AFTER becoming solicitors.

  8. Yes you can, you would do a qualifying law degree then the appropriate vocational stage, then you would be requested by the Master of Rolls to usually submit a statement, sometimes they require you to attend a meeting to discuss it.

Hope this helps, and dont give up!

  9. Potentially you can. And the same goes for becoming a barrister. Here is the link for the Solicitors' Regulatory Authority's information on it:

    www.sra.org.uk/students/student-enrolm...

The Bar Council will have something similar on their website.

    Hope this helps. Good luck
