Here is my situation.. I have been looking online in regards to the morning after pill. What is on my mind is I have been with my boyfriend and have used the MAP as backup. Because I have done so my cycle became awkward. I was with him a few days ago..had my cycle almost two days later...BUT I didn't take the morning after pill since I am assuming I had my period I may not have gotten pregnant. Now I am worried thinking I should have taken it. Can one become pregnant that way?

  1. YES....and the morning after pill is not a form of contraceptive.  Don't rely on it all the time...it isn't 100% effective and even after taking it you can still get pregnant

  2. Yes it only works 75% of the time. It will mess up your cycle though that's the way it works.

  3. not even pills can always keep you from getting pregnant. If you have s*x, no matter what condoms or pills you use, you can get pregnant. the only way to keep from getting pregnant is abstinence

  4. you can always become pregnant. all those birth control options are extremely effective, but even if you use them effectively you can end up pregnant. therefore, if you don't use the birth control exactly as it the instructions say you should then as you know the effectiveness of the birth control will decrease. so, yes, you can become pregnant that way.

  5. Your question is a little confusing, but from what I can tell you are a little confused about when you get pregnant during your cycle.

Typically you ovulate on day 8-16 of your cycle, this is based on a 28 day cycle so you would have to add or subtract days based on your personal cycle. The egg then has a "lifespan" of 24-48 hours, and sperm can live in your body for up to 6 loooong days.

That being said, the most dangerous or fertile days are the days after your period, it sounds like you had s*x two days before your period. Since it was not a fertile time (but please don't get me wrong, you can get pregnant ANY time you have unprotected s*x) and you had your period I highly doubt that you are pregnant.

Not to judge, I have taken the MAP twice, but it is not a good option for birth control. I have a hard time taking hormonal birth control so I did some research so I would know the days to either be extra safe or not have s*x at all. I also found a website, www.yourdays.com and I really liked it because I didn't have to put in personal info, just some facts about my cycle and it shows me when I am ovulation and my most fertile days, it is for woman trying to get pregnant and trying to avoid pregnancy also, which is different because a lot of those sites are only for women trying.

Good luck and be careful! I hope this helped you!!!

Also, I use the vaginal contraceptive films (VCF) and have had no problems, they are  spermicid films but they aren't disgustingly wet and runny like that other ones on the market. And no one will know but you that you are using them .

  6. NOPE!

  7. Why are you using the morning after pill like its a casual contraceptive? Yes you can be pregnant. Say if my period starts on the 2nd of each month and I become pregnant on the 1st I will still get my period. Say if I become pregnant on the 15th I will not get my period. Its all about how close the pregnancy actually is to the day you come on, if you become pregnant within a few days of your period it most likely will still come.

  8. My friend who is 5 months pregnant took the morning after pill.  It obviously didn't take.
